According to section 26, if a candidate nominated by a party dies before or after publication of the final list of candidates, and a written notice is received from the election representative, the party concerned or any other person, and the election officer is convinced of the matter, the election officer shall immediately cancel other programs related to such election. However, the election program will not be postponed in case of death of an independent candidate under the first-come, first-served election system or a candidate whose name is included in the closed list of candidates for proportional elections.
(2) According to sub-section (1), the election officer shall post the notice of postponement of the program in his office for the information of other candidates as well.
(3) If the information as per sub-section (1) is received, the commission shall re-determine the program related to the nomination of the candidate and the date of voting in case of the death of the candidate after the publication of the final list of candidates, including the date of voting in the event of the death of the candidate before the publication of the final list of candidates, so as not to affect the voting program of such election in accordance with this paragraph. should be sent to the election officer.
